To figure out if a verb is transitive/intransitive, first figure out if it's an action verb or linking verb.
Linking verbs are ALWAYS intransitive.
Action verbs could either be transitive/intransitive. If the sentence answers who/what immediately following then the verb, then the verb is likely transitive. If the sentence answers where/where or is an adjective, then the verb is likely intransitive.
